The day before.

The hostel was abuzz with activity. Somebody rushed into the room looking for an iron box. Utmost care  was being taken to banish any crease from the brand new white coat as well as the first day of internship. Calls were being made to seniors for all the help they could give. Stethoscopes were confirmed of their functionality and kept aside to adorn the young doctors’ neck. Coat pockets were filled to the brim  with all that was considered necessary. The excitement was palpable. I found myself an actress in this drama and I was playing my role to perfection. And finally I decided to stop. Took a minute to sit and jot down my goals for the first posting. I also reminded myself of my responsibility of being a child of God and a doctor simultaneously. Having done that, i suddenly felt  the assurance that my Father in Heaven, who has brought me thus far will carry me through this. And I sank into the arms of sleep, excited to wake up to the first day with the precious prefix” Dr”.

Nothing but a recipient of Christ's grace. I am a young doctor and I use this space to find meaning in the bedlam of my thoughts. My blog might resonate with the screams of a young adult finding her place in life, the stench of hospital corridors, images of the many people who intrigue me and the lessons my Saviour Jesus teaches me.
