A week to remember!

Definitely a memorable week! We reached Kunnakal rural health training center on Saturday,10th December. We were  guaranteed a great time by friends who were posted there earlier. Accommodation was provided for the 3 of us in the quarters above the health centre. Soon after we reached, we were introduced to the place by the senior medical officer Dr.Sherly. A retired PHC medical officer, she is an extremely down to earth person who loves socialising. She gave us brief outlooks on various national programmes as well as on life in general. We shall not forget her love for plants and the cheer with which she would refill the vase on our table with fresh flowers daily. Other members of the staff included Aleyamma sister, the resident nurse. She was always just a call away for anything. Ponni sister, the other staff nurse and shiny chechi, our JPHN were two other wonderful people we met there. And then there was Sati chechi. She not only made sure our place was tidy but also provided us with extreme support during our survey. Some days you will find new artworks on the wall. Wonder not, it is her creativity! And she is a good singer too. Our he health inspector Mr.Lathish was a great visitor with plenty of jokes and pranks up his sleeves.

And there was us! Angela, Anitha and myself. We had a great time cooking, bickering away, watching tv and also a wonderful time of fellowship. Our tongues enjoyed Angela’s cooking magic and she is to blame for our weight gain!(in my case though, it was definitely welcome). All in all, it was a fun filled week of refreshment, learning and refinement. Thank God for that week to remember!

Nothing but a recipient of Christ's grace. I am a young doctor and I use this space to find meaning in the bedlam of my thoughts. My blog might resonate with the screams of a young adult finding her place in life, the stench of hospital corridors, images of the many people who intrigue me and the lessons my Saviour Jesus teaches me.
