The message of the manger

Beautiful mangers decorated to perfection adorn many households during the Christmas season. When we see them, do we ever remember the message of the manger? Why did the Creator of this world chose such a downtrodden place to be born? The King of grace was born without any worldly fuss. No pre-booked private labour suite. No great obstetrician/midwife was present. No pomp and show like these days to welcome the baby. But angels couldn’t help celebrate. And the ones who were aware of this birth were few in number. Yet this was a majestic birth. And the message of the manger -humilty and simplicity- is often easily forgotten. This Christmas, as we celebrate the birth of our Saviour, let’s fuss a little less about the things we don’t have and accept the imperfection gifted to us. Let’s simply sit back and praise God for all that we are and all that we have. Simply imbibe  the message of the manger in your lives. Merry Christmas!

Nothing but a recipient of Christ's grace. I am a young doctor and I use this space to find meaning in the bedlam of my thoughts. My blog might resonate with the screams of a young adult finding her place in life, the stench of hospital corridors, images of the many people who intrigue me and the lessons my Saviour Jesus teaches me.
