I’m posted in the department of obstetrics and gynaecology. Today a second gravida at 7weeks of amenorrhoea came to the OPD. I stood by as the patient was positioned for a viability scan. At the first view of the uterus, the obstetrician started beaming. She turned the screen towards the patient- you are having twins, she announced in joy.

And the look of unexpected joy on the mother’s face! It was quite a sight.I suddenly realised I was beaming ear to ear too! Then the husband was called in and the news was shared. Again, that now familiar  look of rhapsody!

This twin pregnancy was truly like a surprise gift to them from God.’s only the first trimester…long way to go. Anything can happen to the babies in that time. Still..for now…there was a pure, untainted happiness in their hearts. It made me, a silent witness to their joy, extremely happy. And also got me we all love surprises! And when it’s something so! Perfect!

Nothing but a recipient of Christ's grace. I am a young doctor and I use this space to find meaning in the bedlam of my thoughts. My blog might resonate with the screams of a young adult finding her place in life, the stench of hospital corridors, images of the many people who intrigue me and the lessons my Saviour Jesus teaches me.
