The Giants vs the Good Land

My head was saturated with the bone dry facts of Community medicine(PSM). The boredom was too much to handle and hence I decided to call it a day. I opened my Bible to Deutronomy. Suddenly it looked like my brain, all blackened with the soot of PSM was asked to process some small but important thoughts from this passage.

God had promised the land of Cannan to the Israelites. He got them out of their bondage in Egypt and brought them on a journey full of miracles. Signs and wonders were all over! And finally God tells them to go and take possession of the land without fear. Some spies were sent to this land for a preview.
The spies had mixed news. The land was good but the obstacles they were to face would be many. The people looked fierce and the city walls were not reassuring. And what do they do? They start bickering away and their doubts seemed taller than the giants they were fearing. And God punishes them with the loss in the battle.

If only they had believed the God who asked them to venture forth  and NOT BE AFRAID. If only they had more faith..
Well, I see myself in the place of the Israelites almost all the time(though the giants and walls differ). Let us have the faith to hold on to the promises of God and march forward, no matter how feeble our chances look.

Nothing but a recipient of Christ's grace. I am a young doctor and I use this space to find meaning in the bedlam of my thoughts. My blog might resonate with the screams of a young adult finding her place in life, the stench of hospital corridors, images of the many people who intrigue me and the lessons my Saviour Jesus teaches me.
